The Claremont Hotel in Southwest Harbor, and The Asticou Hotel in Northeast Harbor, Maine is looking for Maintenance Technicians to join our teams for the 2025 season.

Pay: $20-$22/ hour based on experience

Full time, April-November

Located just minutes from Acadia National Park, The Claremont Hotel brings luxury accommodations with a variety of room options to Mount Desert Island.

Team members wear multiple hats and do “whatever it takes” to create a terrific guest experience for our guests.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for helping to maintain and oversee the grounds, buildings and equipment at The Claremont. The ideal candidate must be willing to respond to emergencies, and work with Corporate on special projects. This position requires overall maintenance knowledge and trouble shooting ability with skills in painting, carpentry, equipment, and tool usage. Maine CPO certified a plus.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Monitor the safety of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, parking lots and outdoor recreational spaces
  • Performs routine maintenance on grounds and public areas as needed
  • Performs routine maintenance on rooms and cottages and complete guest maintenance requests
  • Assists Maintenance Manager to prepare the property at various points throughout the year for changing weather conditions (opening and closing of the facilities)
  • Understands and adhere to Company's brand standards
  • Ensure guests needs are met
  • May be asked to cross train in different departments
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:

  • 1 year or more of hotel or building experience
  • Ability to be on your feet for a long period of time
  • Flexible schedule, must be willing to work weekends
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be neat, courteous, flexible and detail oriented
  • Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional with demanding guests and in difficult situations
